Hi! I’m Ben (left) I’m 28 and I’m one half of Northern Shakers. I’ve been a mixologist for just over ten years and spent the first five years at Uni in Leeds studying Advertising and Marketing followed by a Business Development masters, perfecting my skills on both sides of the bar.
Hi! I’m Charlie (right) I’m 29 and I’m the other half of Northern Shakers. I trained as an electrician for four years and had actually never mixed a cocktail before starting the business. Thankfully I’ve spent the last four years perfecting the craft and now I can shake with the best of them.
We are very much a family ran business, with a great team of mixologists behind us. Their skills enable us to ‘deliver fantastic events’- across the UK and deliver ‘professionally made cocktail bottles’- to your door. We couldn’t do it without them.
We’ve both wanted to be business owners for as long as we can remember, so when an opportunity arose to host the cocktail bar at a festival in 2017, we grabbed it with both hands and Northern Shakers was born.
Incorporated in June 2017 we had set out to be a mobile cocktail bar and events business. Between the years of 2017 and 2019 we were just that, building a strong and loyal customer base providing top tier drinks and excitement for private parties, corporate events and weddings.
In March 2020 though that all changed- I don’t need to say why, we won’t use the C word here! The rug had been pulled from under us with gatherings restricted, leaving us unable to operate as we had been. Whilst sat at home procrastinating (and running out of money!) like everyone else, we were discussing the lack of premium quality pre-made cocktails on the market, and so in June 2020, Northern Shakers premix hit the shelves.
